DESCRIPTION:Homeschool families are invited to a special HomeSchool Day featuring hands-on activities and exhibit access designed to support home curriculum\, give unique experiences\, and create community. \nSpecial admission is $10 per person. Children under 2 are free. \nHomeSchool Day Activities Include:\nOptional Eyeball Dissection Lab\nGet hands-on in our Eyeball Dissection Lab for an additional $10 per student covering the cost of supplies. Pre-register to secure your spot as this activity has limited availability. Minimum age is 7. Parents must be present.\nSession 1: 10:30am\nSession 2: 2:00pm \nMagnified Masterpieces\nFrom curving lenses to mighty microscopes\, kids experiment with how different tools magnify\, shrink\, and totally transform what our eyes can see. Then capture the hidden details in a microscope micro-drawing. \nSurvival Science – Why Traits Matter\nFrom camouflage to claws\, kids will uncover the amazing features that help animals survive and thrive in their environments as they design a creature built for a specific habitat. They’ll choose traits that help it hunt\, hide\, move\, or defend itself\, then test what happens when the environment suddenly changes. \nPre-registration is encouraged.
