 Science Museum Oklahoma Offers Free Celebration of Creativity for STEAM Educators, Artists and Makers June 4-5

Calling all K-12 educators, artists and makers! Looking to connect, share and learn about ideas and resources that will help you better teach STEAM? On June 4, from 6-9 p.m., and June 5, from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Science Museum Oklahoma is hosting Convening of Makers and Educators, an activity showcase that will give attendees the opportunity to learn, interact, network and get actual hands-on in-person experience working with artists, makers and other educators from around the state. Light refreshments will be provided Friday night and a boxed lunch on Saturday. This event is sponsored by Oklahoma EPSCoR.

On May 7-8, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., join Science Museum Oklahoma and blast off into a world of flight, robotics and space exploration! Space Day, one of the museum’s most anticipated annual events, is presented by Allied Arts OKC. This year, the museum is offering not one, but two action-packed days celebrating the science of space.

Entering Science Museum Oklahoma’s smART Space Gallery, guests are greeted by a corps of ballet dancers inspired by the guest’s every move. With each tilt of the head, arm movement or pause, the ballet dancers react. This is the first experience in Screens, a new exhibit created specifically for the museum by nationally recognized artist Geoffrey Hicks. This is also the first time Hicks has allowed multiple installations of his works to be featured in a single location, providing museum guests an opportunity  exclusive to Science Museum Oklahoma.
