2018-19 Winter Break Camps

Session 1: Dec. 27-28, 2018
Session 2: Jan. 3-4, 2019

  • Early Explorers (pre-K and kindergarten) camps are from 9 a.m. to noon and are $45 per child per session for museum members or $50 for nonmembers. Explorers (Grades 1-3) and Innovators (grades 4-6) camps are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are $90 per child per session for museum members or $100 for nonmembers.
  • Early Explorers (Pre-K to kindergarten) are required to bring a snack for each day of camp and Explorers and Innovators (Grades 1-6) are required to bring a lunch and a snack for each day of camp.
  • Camps are listed as "Registration Closed - Sold Out" when sold out and "Limited Space Available" when less than five spaces remain.
  • Registration closes the Monday before each camp or when full. No refunds are available for cancellations made later than one week prior to the start of camp. Camp registration is updated frequently, however if you are concerned your preferred camp may sell out, please contact Guest Relations at (405) 602-3760 for the most up to date availability. Rates include both days of camp.

Early Explorers (Pre-K and Kindergarten)

Caboose and the Whole Caboodle

9 a.m. to noon, $45 for members / $50 for nonmembers
Campers should bring: A snack

Hop on the train for a locomotive-inspired science camp! Together we’ll discover the power that steam can create and build our own miniature boxcars, take a special private tour of the Pullman Parlor Car, and have some unique storytime experiences. All aboard!

Explorers (Grades 1-3)

Chemical Chaos

9 a.m. to 4 p.m., $90 for members / $100 for nonmembers
Campers should bring: A snack and a lunch

Things that pop, things that fizz, even things that go boom! We’re mixing it up in this chemically cool camp. Explore the polymer chains that create the museum’s bubble glop formula, analyze the chemistry of creating rust, safely explore the colors elements can create through a flame test and end things with a bang!

Innovators (Grades 4-6)

Da Vinci: Science, Art, Design

9 a.m. to 4 p.m., $90 for members / $100 for nonmembers
Campers should bring: A snack and a lunch

Discover some of Leonardo Da Vinci’s greatest achievements — from the physics and engineering of portable bridges to parachutes and even simple machines. We’ll venture into the mind and experiments of this famous scientist and his explorations that made history!

Session 2: Jan. 3-4, 2019

Early Explorers (Pre-K and Kindergarten)

Dinostars

9 a.m. to noon, $45 for members / $50 for nonmembers
Campers should bring: A snack

Rawrrrrrrr! This camp is all about the prehistoric superstars we know and love. Uncover fossils and their meanings by printing in clay, discover how long a dinosaur could get, and even design and create your own dinosaur friend! This epic journey will explore the animals before the dinosaurs through dinosaurs that still surround us today.

Explorers (Grades 1-3)

Meteor Meltdown

9 a.m. to 4 p.m., $90 for members / $100 for nonmembers
Campers should bring: A snack and a lunch

Let’s blast off into space and shoot for the moon! Together we’ll traverse the stars through a special trip to our newly upgraded Kirkpatrick Planetarium. How do you eat in space? What’s that bright light in the sky? Can we launch some rockets now, please?! We have all the answers to your out-of-this-world questions!

Innovators (Grades 4-6)

Make It or Break It

9 a.m. to 4 p.m., $90 for members / $100 for nonmembers
Campers should bring: A snack and a lunch

It’s time to tinker! Do you love taking things apart? Putting things together? Smashing things? Then you have what it takes to be a serious tinkerer! Together with trained pros we’ll try water marbling, make zip lines for your creations, explore simple machines with automata and find all kinds of objects to build, design, and destroy!
