Year-Long Art Exhibition to Bend Minds in smART Space

Science Museum Oklahoma opened its newest gallery, “POV: Perspectives in Anamorphic Art,” in smART Space. Running for one year, the gallery invites visitors to “find the right point of view and see a whole new side of art” through an immersive display that fuses art and science via optical illusions.

The art exhibition features works by renowned artists Jonty Hurwitz, Leon Keer, Michael Murphy, Carnovsky, and Candace Hicks. Highlighting the intersection of art and science through illusion, POV offers an interactive experience in which guests use visual and physical cues to discover mind-bending perspectives.

As the latest exhibition in smART Space, POV emphasizes Science Museum Oklahoma’s commitment to innovative programming that sparks curiosity and reveals the relevance of science in our lives. Entry to smART Space is included in general admission, making it accessible to all who wish to experience this unique celebration of art, illusion, and science.

“POV transforms everyday perceptions into extraordinary experiences. This exhibition harnesses physics, psychology, optics and various other science principles to bring optical illusions to life while showcasing visionary works of some amazing, renowned artists,” said Sherry Marshall, John E. Kirkpatrick CEO at Science Museum Oklahoma. “We’re thrilled to offer Oklahoma City a convergence of art and science that celebrates creativity and innovation.”
