smART Talks

Art and science both start with curiosity. Both ask questions. Both test ideas. Both create something new from what we observe about the world around us.

smART Talks is a speaker series at Science Museum Oklahoma that celebrates the connection between artistic expression and scientific thinking. Each program features artists whose work is shaped by science, creativity, and experimentation. Guests hear directly from creators about how their ideas take shape, what inspires their work, and the discoveries that happen along the way. Presentations include time for audience questions, creating a space for conversation, reflection, and shared curiosity.

This smART Talks speaker series highlights the importance of the arts in STEAM by showing how creativity strengthens innovation, problem solving, and exploration. When people see how artists and scientists approach challenges in similar ways, new perspectives begin to form.

smART Talks also connects with the museum’s rotating exhibitions in the smART Space galleries, offering visitors the opportunity to experience featured artwork and then learn more about the ideas behind it from the artist themselves. It is part art event, part learning experience, and completely rooted in curiosity.

For those looking for art events in Oklahoma City, creative inspiration, or new ways to explore science through art, smART Talks offers an experience that is thoughtful, engaging, and uniquely hands on in its approach to discovery.
