After years of development, Science Museum Oklahoma introduces the world-class Love’s Planetarium. As the only planetarium of its caliber in North America, Oklahoma City is now home to a unique hybrid, interactive, technology-driven astronomy experience.
The Love’s Planetarium at Science Museum Oklahoma features a cutting-edge hybrid optical and digital projection system, creating an ultra-realistic night sky with 8 million detailed stars, nebulae, and clusters. Using high-intensity LEDs and fiber optics, it brings the Milky Way to life. Visitors can track constellations, the Sun, the Moon, and planets while connecting with history, storytelling, and new astronomical discoveries.

3-2-1 Liftoff! is an animated planetarium film about space travel. Meet Elon, a hamster scientist who dreams of adventure. When a damaged robot crash-lands in his garden, he learns she must return to her spaceship before it leaves for Mars in three days. This show is aimed at younger audiences.
Explore deep space in Edge of Darkness, a planetarium experience showcasing never-before-seen cosmic landscapes. Travel through towering cliffs on comet 67P, witness the enigmatic bright “lights” of Ceres, and get a front-row view of Pluto and its moons—all captured by groundbreaking space missions.

Sally’s Night | 6:30 p.m. is a free evening event presented with the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum and supported by Bank of Oklahoma, celebrating the wonder of the night sky and the legacy of Sally Ride. Communities partners join us with their expertise and enthusiasm to make this event shine.
Together, these experiences take you from daytime discovery to after-dark stargazing, all anchored by live, presenter-led programs in the Love’s Planetarium.
