Teen Science Cafés

Teen Science Cafés are free, hands-on STEM workshops for teens at Science Museum Oklahoma. Each Café gives teens the chance to meet STEAM professionals, explore science and technology careers, try hands-on activites, and connect with other curious teens in Oklahoma City.

Led by the museum’s second-year Teen Ambassadors with guidance from a STEM expert, each Café explores a different topic through conversation, interactive presentations, and hands-on activities. No previous STEAM experience is needed.

Who: Teens
Cost: Free with pre-registration
Time: 12pm – 2pm
Each Café includes: Lunch, a STEM expert guest speaker, and a hands-on activity or experiment

Topics, speakers, activities, and food change with each Café, giving teens a new STEM experience every time.

Saturday, October 17, 2026| 12pm – 2pm

This workshop is structured as a forensic investigation. Teens will conduct chromatography, fingerprint analysis, blood type analysis, and spatter analysis. Participants will connect the evidence at the end to determine “whodunnit” and close the case.

Rashi K. Shukla, Ph.D will be joining us as our guest speaker. Rashi K. Shukla, Ph.D., is a Professor of Criminal Justice in the School of Criminal Justice at the University of Central Oklahoma. She is an ethnographer, author, and podcast host whose scholarly work documents lived experiences and examines drugs, rural crime, and policing in rural communities.
