Science Learning Beyond The Museum Walls

Science Museum Oklahoma’s On the Go Programs meet learners where they are and bring engaging science learning directly to schools, libraries, and community events across Oklahoma. Designed for:

  • classrooms
  • assemblies
  • public libraries
  • festivals
  • community events
  • and more

From hands-on classroom activities to large group science demonstrations, our educators tailor each visit for the audience and setting. On the Go Programs serve teachers, K-12 schools, libraries, youth organizations, community groups, troops, and special interest organizations looking to spark curiosity beyond the museum walls. Whether you are planning a school day experience, a library program, or a community event, Science Museum Oklahoma delivers memorable science learning that is accessible, interactive, and built to inspire learners of all ages.

In Classrooms

K – 12 Schools
Science Museum Oklahoma brings science straight into the classroom, turning everyday lessons into moments of discovery. Designed for individual classes, these hands-on programs invite students to explore, experiment, and ask big questions alongside a museum educator. Each visit is tailored to grade level standards and learning goals, giving teachers and schools an easy way to add meaningful science experiences to the school day.

In Assemblies

K – 12 Schools
When the whole school gathers, science gets big. These live demonstration programs fill gyms, cafeterias, and auditoriums with energy, curiosity, and plenty of wow moments. Led by Science Museum Oklahoma educators, standards-aligned assembly programs spark interest in science through engaging demonstrations and audience participation, helping students see how science shows up in the world around them.

In the past year alone, these programs reached more than 54,000 students at 125 Title I schools across Oklahoma, many in rural and underserved communities. For many students, this was their first time seeing science come alive beyond their classroom, opening the door to new questions, new ideas, and new possibilities.

In Libraries

Public Libraries
Libraries are places where curiosity already lives, and Science Museum Oklahoma builds right on that. Hosted by public libraries across the state, these hands-on programs blend experiments and creative exploration into memorable science moments for all ages.

This year’s programming invites participants to unearth science stories of the past – from role playing as paleontologists and discovering what makes a dinosaur a dinosaur to engineering solutions for survival and creating paleoart inspired by ancient life.

Each program is designed to fit the space and audience, creating experiences that encourage conversation, spark questions, and keep patrons coming back for more.

On Nights & Weekends

Community Events
Science does not stop when the museum closes. Science Museum Oklahoma brings interactive science to festivals and other community events happening on nights and weekends. From lively public gatherings to special interest events, our educators meet communities where they are, creating engaging science moments that invite exploration, connection, and shared discovery.
