An Oceanarium expansion is swimming into Science Museum Oklahoma!

For decades, guests have gathered around Oceanarium to watch colorful fish glide through a living coral reef ecosystem. Beginning June 22, Oceanarium will offer even more ways to explore the science happening beneath the surface.

Designed and built by the team at Science Museum Oklahoma, the expansion adds three new exhibit walls filled with hands-on experiences, interactive challenges, tactile elements, and colorful visuals inspired by the animals living in the museum’s own tanks. Discover how ecosystems stay balanced, explore food chains and symbiotic relationships, learn about coral reefs, and uncover fascinating facts about the fish swimming just a few feet away.

Above the new exhibits, a suspended art installation of schooling fish brings movement and color to the space, creating a new photo-worthy feature within the gallery.

Whether you’re identifying relationships between species, learning how energy moves through an ecosystem, or simply enjoying a quiet moment watching the fish, Oceanarium offers a deeper look at the connections that keep our natural world thriving.

Oceanarium is included with general admission and membership. Opening June 22, 2026.
