Noon Years Eve Calendar graphicNoon Year’s Eve Returns at Science Museum Oklahoma. Ring in the new year a little early with a community tinkering and crafting celebration that ends with a homemade float parade and a countdown at noon.

The hands-on fun begins when Science Museum Oklahoma opens on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 9 a.m. Guests can build and engineer their own cardboard floats throughout the morning with the various creative supplies provided, or feel free to bring creations from home.

The parade begins at 11:45 a.m., followed by a Noon Year’s countdown at 12 p.m. All activities are included with general admission.

“Noon Year’s Eve gives families an exciting alternative to the ‘traditional’ experiences to kick off the new year. It’s a unique chance to create something together and celebrate,” said Sherry Marshall, John E. Kirkpatrick President and CEO of Science Museum Oklahoma. “The energy in the building as everyone prepares for the parade is incredible, and watching hundreds of creative people countdown to noon is one of the highlights of our year.”

Now a beloved tradition, the indoor Noon Year’s Eve continues to be one of the community’s most popular winter break events.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their imaginations. Materials may be brought from home, and the museum will also provide a variety of supplies for building floats of all shapes and sizes.
