Science Museum Oklahoma is proud to stand alongside peer institutions, scientists, and concerned citizens in support of March for Science Oklahoma and the national March for Science set for Earth Day, April 22, 2017. On this day SMO will celebrate science with the museum’s annual Earth Day activities.

The mission of the March for Science is to bring awareness to the importance of a scientifically literate society, of funding science research, and of developing evidence-based public policy. We feel these goals are vital to the museum’s mission of sparking curiosity and encouraging learning by exploring the wonder and relevance of science. Through interactive exhibits, year-round educational programming, and statewide outreach efforts we see first-hand the important role science education plays in developing strong citizens, states, and nations.

We believe that open, inclusive, and accessible science and science education are critical to our society and to the common good. We believe that science matters.
